Manage

The OpenSRS control panel can be used to make changes to your domain name, including:

  • Update your contact information (mailing or email address, phone number, etc.)
  • Update your name servers (in the unlikely event you wish to point to a new host)
  • Get your authorization code (in the similarly unlikely event you wish to switch registrars)

If you'd like to make changes to your domain, give us a buzz so we can unlock it first. All domains are locked in order to prevent unauthorized changes (such as transfers of ownership).

Transfer

Transferring a domain from your current registrar to us is a relatively straightforward process, but it does involve a bit of back-and-forth over email:

  1. Prepare for the transfer
    • Disable WHOIS privacy and unlock your domain with your current registrar
    • Request an Authorization Code from them
  2. Initiate the transfer
    • Tell us when your domain is unlocked and you have an Authorization Code
    • We will then initiate your domain transfer

Steps 3 & 4

Miscellany

Our new name servers vary depending on your domain, so please write to us if you need help pointing to our server. All domains hosted on our server are registered with us (so we can make adjustments quickly at the DNS level). We do offer domain names and DNS services for websites hosted off-server too.

By registering a domain name with us, you agree to our Registration Agreement. ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) would like you to review this document detailing your Registrants Rights and Responsibilities.
